What is a Schengen visa?
The Schengen visa is a document that allows its holder to stay for up to 90 days within a 180-day period in the Schengen area, from the date of first entry.
Good to know The Schengen visa does not allow travel to the United Kingdom.
Do I need a visa?
You must apply for a Schengen visa if you are a national of a third country listed on the official list.
Examples of countries requiring a visa:
Afghanistan, Algeria, Angola, Armenia, Bangladesh, Belarus, Benin, Cameroon, China, Congo, Egypt, Ghana, India, Iran, Lebanon, Morocco, Nigeria, Pakistan, Russia, Senegal, Syria, Tunisia, Turkey, Vietnam, etc.

How to apply?
The Schengen visa application must be submitted to the Belgian consulate or the authorised service provider in your country of residence.
Documents generally required:
- Valid passport (at least three months after the planned return date)
- Completed and signed application form
- Travel insurance covering at least 30,000 euros in medical care
- Proof of accommodation and financial means
- Proof of return (return ticket or equivalent)
